The South Solomon River we drove over when entering Hill City - always looking down to see how much water (if any) was flowing - we spent many days exploring the river, drinking beer under the bridge, and were marvelled when it flooded
Lyrics
Rolling across those hills
Coming to our town
Cross that bridge, look on down
[Chorus]
South Solomon River
Running through the sand
These are our people, this is our land
[Verse 2]
Sometimes she runs
Sometimes she dry
The pulse of the land under this Graham county sky
Looking to the left
Looking to the right
Under the bridge and late at night
[Chorus]
South Solomon River
Running through the sand
This is the place where we come from
[Verse 3]
All along the river
What an adventure man
Sharks teeth minnows, tadpoles feet sinking in the sand
Walking up and down
All of the days
Like an island a thousand miles away
[Chorus]
South Solomon River
Running through the sand
These are my people, this is my land
South Solomon River
Under the sun
This is the place where we come from
[Instrumental]
[Verse 4]
Jump on a horse
Dirt bike or side by side
On the banks somewhere we ride
Once in a while
She would swell
Oh the story she could tell
[Chorus]
South Solomon River
Running through the sand
These are our people, this is our land
South Solomon River
Under the sun
This is the place where we come from
